Bay Area Laser Safety Officers

What is BALSO?

Bay Area Laser Safety Officers is an organization designed to promote networking of individuals involved in laser safety. Most members are from the Bay Area, but we invite participation by all interested parties.

The Bay Area Laser Safety Officers (BALSO) mission is to:

  • Promote the professional practice of laser safety in education, research, medicine, and industry.
  • Provide, through regular meetings, an open forum for the discussion of laser safety issues.
  • Encourage cooperation and networking among laser safety professionals.
  • Provide basic unbiased laser safety information to the public.
  • Provide recognition for supporting organizations.
